Job Description:
The Splunk Specialist will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, and ongoing management of the Splunk IT
Service Intelligence (ITSI) platform. This role requires a deep understanding of ITSI, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work
collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and performance of IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation & Configuration:
• Responsible for Design, implementation, and configuration of Splunk ITSI to meet the business needs.
• Develop and configure key performance indicators (KPIs), service health scores, and service monitoring dashboards.
• Monitoring and Analytics by integrating data from various sources into Splunk ITSI.
Monitoring & Maintenance:
• Monitor the performance and health of services (viz. IT) using Splunk ITSI.
• Regular maintenance and updates to the ITSI platform to ensure optimal performance.
• Problem Troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to Splunk ITSI and related data sources.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
• Analyze data to identify trends, irregularities and potential problems affecting IT services.
• Create reports and visualizations to provide insights into service health and performance.
• Develop custom dashboards and alerts to support proactive monitoring and incident response.
Collaboration & Support:
• Work closely with IT operations, development, and security teams to understand their monitoring needs and implement appropriate solutions in Splunk ITSI.
• Provide training and support to end-users on how to effectively use Splunk ITSI.
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide support during major incidents.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience working with Splunk, including at least 2 years with Splunk ITSI.
• Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) principles and practices.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Splunk, including data ingestion, field extraction, search processing, and dashboard creation.
• Experience with ITSI modules, including KPI creation, service health scorecards, and glass tables.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and data integration techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
