A dynamic and innovative company in Diep River, has an excellent opportunity for an Accountant to join their team. This role is integral to the finance department, offering a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 – 5 years’ experience.
You will be responsible for the following:
Full accounting function ability to take over/assist where necessary
Suppliers, Customers, Banking (Cheque, Credit Cards, Petty Cash), Fixed Asset Register, Insurance, Payroll
Setting up, improving, maintaining effective financial controls and statutory compliance
Set up and Preparation - monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
Assist with statutory submissions e.g. DOL, CIPC, SARS
Contribution to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performance
Assisting the Financial Executive with ad-hoc assignments
Identify areas to streamline current processes to improve efficiency & implementation thereof
UIF submissions
Monthly payroll schedules, reconciliations and EMP201 submissions
Bi-annual / annual EMP501 reconciliations
Processing and reconciling bank statements, debtors and creditors
VAT reconciliations, submissions and credit pushes
Assist in the preparation of presentation reports for client meetings
Drafting, reviewing and assisting with annual financial statements for individuals, companies and trusts
Work independently on client portfolios
Monthly processing of small clients (CC’s & Companies)
Weekly/Monthly update of wages/salaries for clients
Calculation and preparation of EMP201, VAT201, ITR12 & IT14
Accounting work in relation to Annual financial statements (general journals, provisions journals, asset register updates and depreciation journals, VAT reconciliations and tax calculations)
Preparation of financial statement
Communicate with clients and handle inquiries
Qualifications:
Matric/Grade 12 Certificate
Bachelor Degree in B. Com / B.Acc / B.Compt Accounting / B.Tech / National Diploma

4 - 5 Years accounting experience
MS Office (Intermediate Excel working experience) & Pastel
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Good communication skills and able to work well with a diverse team (Afrikaans & English)
Deadline orientated and work well under pressure
Attention to detail
Excellent time management skills

Accounting degree or equivalent with minimum 5 years’ relevant experience
