Requirements: - A Hotel School Qualification will be advantageous.
- Must have 2 years previous relevant Guesthouse experience.
- Have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
- Be a cheerful, hands-on, hard-working team player.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Have excellent communication, inter-personal and problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency - experience with NightsBridge booking platform, Microsoft Suite, email etiquette.
- Able to contribute to marketing, (pricing, competitive analysis, and social media)
- Be comfortable with shift work, weekends, holidays.
- Own transport and valid drivers license
- Be willing to work in all departments to help achieve the goals of the business.
As the Assistant Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the Duty Manager in overseeing daily operations, driving growth, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Being fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English could be an advantage.
Your Duties, with Guidance from the Duty Manager, will Include: Involvement in
administrative aspects of the business - Handling emails, guest inquiries on booking platforms, making, amending on NightsBridge, settling of guest accounts, liaising with suppliers and stock taking of business inventory.
All
front office tasks - Open and close of the Guesthouse according to shifts. Preparing registration forms; ensuring a smooth check-in experience; stay and check-out process; taking payments ensuring all accounts are settled in full; making note of any VIP guests or special requests; check-in pre-arranged late arrivals and handling of any guest complaints.
Back of House: E nsuring that the breakfast room and outdoor areas are clean and neat; assisting with breakfast prep, service and cooking when needed.
Housekeeping : Manage staff to clean rooms according to the SOP. Making sure that all rooms are ready and up to standard for new arrivals.
Routine
management of staff in their daily duties; supervising kitchen and service staff; perform on-call duties as required; checking adherence to all policies as set out in the SOP manual; training of new staff.
This role is live-out/5 day, 45-hour week. Every 2nd weekend free, shifts are shared with the other manager.
