Supervising or performing routine tasks such as:
Daily inspections of electric fences to ensure they are functioning and clear of debris
Daily end of day inspections on park operating days to ensure all fires are extinguished and there are no leaking water pipes, taps, or toilets
Regular inspections of animal farmyard, workroom, buildings, shop, and grounds to ensure cleanliness, neatness and order in all areas
Fetching animal feed and bedding, shop stocks, and materials
Regular inspections of park amenities, ablutions, equipment, buildings, and roads to check for maintenance requirements
Repairs and maintenance tasks
Transporting staff when necessary
Park cleaning grounds, tables, and braais
Pool cleaning and chemical dosing
Irrigation and care of lawns and trees
Rubbish removal and dumping
Septic tank emptying
Regular testing and servicing of all vehicles and machinery, including pumps, generators, brush cutters, lawn mowers, chainsaw, electrical equipment, cameras, gate motor etc.
Arranging or undertaking regular servicing and maintenance of park equipment, including vehicles, lawn mowers, pumps, play park etc.
Monitoring security equipment and fencing
Managing animal care, such as hoof trimming, sheep shearing, deworming, lice control
Managing timely ordering and procurement of supplies feed, pool chemicals, fuel, shop stocks, oat hay etc.
Ensuring the park is compliant with all safety measures as prescribed by South African law
Administrative tasks:
Cash reconciliations
Banking
Setting up Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions for all electrics, water pipes, security fences, cameras, machinery, and equipment, using diagrams where appropriate
Maintaining staff timesheets, days off, annual leave, issue of uniforms and workwear
Receiving deliveries and stocking fridges and tuck shop
Research for sourcing products at best prices
Creating spreadsheets for costing of materials and time allocations for projects
Research for best way to carry out projects
Setting up and implementing management systems to streamline tasks in order to minimise time and fuel wastage
Guest services
Recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing seasonal staff, including security, cleaners, pool marshals, ticket marshals, shop assistants, parking attendants, and lifeguards
Managing operations to ensure staff are scheduled, correctly placed, and sufficiently trained and equipped to ensure the following:
swift, smooth customer intake and maximum road safety
tuck shop is prepared and ready
ablutions are properly equipped and monitored for cleanliness, blocked or leaking toilets
parking is well-managed
trampolines & pool safety is monitored at all times
end of day clean-up, cash-up, and preparations for the following day i.e. floats, charged radios, phones and card machines, tube bands counted and bundled
Admitting customers - taking payments, ensuring that customers comply with conditions of entry and park rules
