We are looking for a Researcher or Associate Researcher for a 1-year contract who will be based in Johannesburg.
Duties:
- Coordinate site visits, research activities and community and stakeholder engagement meetings
- Co-ordinate all the project team meetings and take minutes
- Organize all administrative processes and logistics
- Engage actively in community and stakeholder engagement meetings
- Engage in and take notes during the focus group discussions and ensure that all interviews are transcribed
- Contact, liaise and ensure regular communication with key community representatives and public sector stakeholders
- Undertake analysis of interviews
- Undertake evidence mapping review
- Draft reports
Requirements, work experience and qualifications:
- Relevant Master’s degree (public health, social work, sociology, political science, development studies)
- At least 3 years of project management experience in research
- Evidence of strong qualitative research skills, knowledge of qualitative research methods, primary health care, health systems and policy and experience in facilitating community and stakeholder engagement would be an advantage
- In the case of the researcher, suitable applicants should have at least three (3) publications in accredited journals. No articles are required for an Associate Researcher
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Good writing and conceptual skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
- Highly motivated
The remuneration package would be commensurate with experience and includes medical aid and provident fund and is subject to the University’s regulations.
