Maintenance Specialist – UHT & ESL Packaging

Description: Our client in the Manufacturing Industry, based in Humansdorp, is currently looking to employ an experienced Maintenance Specialist.
Requirements:
- Qualified Millwright or similar technical qualification accompanied by an Electrician Trade Certificate.
- Successfully completed Tetra Pak Maintenance Courses E.g. Filling and Downstream Equipment on TBA8, A3Speed, A3Flex production lines or similar FMCG equipment.
- Maintenance and programming experience on Robot Packers/Palletizers advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience working with Tetra Pak Filling and Downstream Equipment.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position or as a senior maintenance technician, with sound knowledge of hydraulics, electrics, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics and PLC’s.
- Must be willing to work shifts and overtime to meet operational requirements.
- Must be willing to train apprentices and junior technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Perform planned and breakdown maintenance duties on filling and downstream equipment.
- Lead and coach a team of technicians to achieve efficiency and operational KPI targets by performing preventative and reactive maintenance of filling and downstream equipment.
- Perform standby duties and assist the line specialists and foreman in the performance of their duties as required.
- Proactively identify and address problematic issues in all areas.
- Performing Preventative Maintenance / Servicing of equipment.
- Performing Reactive Maintenance / Attending to breakdowns.
- Minimize and prevent breakdowns to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiencies.
- Contribute to improvements and innovations.
- Promoting a homogenous environment across shifts and departments.
- Comply with and drive HSE policies and targets.
- Performing RCA on breakdowns and PDCA analysis as agreed.
