*Doctors Direct* have an exciting opportunity for a *Consultant *to work with us at *Northern Care Alliance in Rheumatology.*
We are looking for a doctor dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing within the Greater Manchester Community.
*Your key responsibilities will be to:*
* The post is an 10PA post which will include 8 Rheumatology clinics per week in an outpatient setting,
* The post holder will provide clinical advice and support for ward referrals.
* Diagnose a variety of rheumatic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, lupus, vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis, and fibromyalgia.
* Develop and manage treatment plans for patients, using a range of therapies, including pharmacological (e.g., NSAIDs, DMARDs, biologics) and non-pharmacological interventions (e.g., physiotherapy, lifestyle changes).
* Administer and monitor advanced treatments, such as biologic therapies and corticosteroid injections.
* Provide comprehensive care to patients, including initial consultations, follow-up appointments, and ongoing management of chronic rheumatological conditions.
* Monitor disease progression and adjust treatment plans based on clinical assessments and patient responses.
* Offer support to patients in managing pain and improving their quality of life, providing guidance on self-care and disease management.
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work (e.g., rheumatoid factor, ANA), imaging studies (e.g., X-rays, MRI, ultrasound), and synovial fluid analysis.
* Guide patients through the diagnostic process, explaining test results and discussing potential treatment options.

* *Days per week:* Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
* *Start date*: ASAP - 6 month fixed contract – Employment end date is 28th March 2025
*Rate of pay: *£125 per hour
* *Payment method: PAYE *we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

* Valid GMC
* Right to work in the UK
* Clinical attachment complete – We do not offer placements in the NHS
* Minimum of 6 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
