Location: Chester
Salary: £68,202 – £75,780
Hours: Full time
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in office.

The Config Engineer aims to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring and supporting their engineering teams. They will work in cross-disciplinary teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high quality software and showcase excellent interpersonal and communication skill whilst efficiently working across the project life cycle to ensure software operates as intended. This is a leadership level role and will blend both deep domain and technical expertise within a feature team and great passion for coaching and developing people in a “player-coach” model.
You'll join our dynamic Debt Manager Recoveries team in Chester who are passionate about new ways of working and new ideas.
What you’ll do
Accountable for the design, build and implementation of configuration changes to our Debt Manager Recoveries system with a focus on operational stability, robustness, resilience and quality. Ensuring this is in collaboration with Architecture and Engineering principles.
Provide Subject Matter Expert input into systems development, integrations and architecture.
Provide technical leadership and guidance, including coaching and mentoring of the team.
Participate in the success of the wider Engineering Config Community, ensuring industry standard best practices are adhered and by sharing your knowledge and experiences to help grow capability.
Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives, promoting a culture of collaboration where people can express themselves honestly.
What you’ll need
Experience with the Collections and Recoveries Debt Manager System Release 11
Configure Debt Manager application layers and components.
Strong Experience of Microsoft SQL Server.
Strong SQL skills to query, analyse and manipulate data.
Experience in version control, ideally Git or similar.
It would be great if you also had
Knowledge of Debt Manager Release 6.2
BULK Data Loader
Knowledge/experience of using DevOps (GitHub, Jenkins, NEXUS) to package and deploy DM CDL
Debt Manager Inbound and Outbound framework
ATAC or other migration tools
Batch Scheduling Tools
Create, configure and monitor ETL routines.
