RDL Scientific are offering an exciting opportunity to join a leading Clinical Trial Unit based in Cambridge. The role of the Clinical Research Nurse is to assist the Clinical Ward Managers in the execution of multiple study protocols and maintaining the safety and well-being of all subjects at all times. The role will predominantly cover night duty, but daytime cover may be required at times according to business needs and study schedules.
*Duties:*
* To lead shifts alongside and independently of Clinical Ward Managers, maintaining the safety and well-being of study participants and data integrity. Maintain operational excellence, quality and data integrity in study conduct.
* To accurately document all study related procedures in the clinical trial process.
* To work both independently, and with the Clinical Ward Managers in aspects of study setup, conduct and end of study activities.
*The ideal candidate will demonstrate these qualities:*
* Works according to relevant company Standard Operating Procedures and policies.
* Works within the scope of ICH GXP
* Demonstrates the skills to undertake clinical work, including but not limited to the following procedures: Record ECGs, Record vital signs, Blood sampling via a cannula, Venepuncture, Venous cannulation, Cardiac monitoring
* Record, report and treat (under medical guidance) adverse events
* Record, report and administer (under medical guidance) concomitant medications
* Performs accurate collection and documentation of study data: Demonstrates knowledge of Electronic Data Capture systems, Demonstrates knowledge of paper data capture, Demonstrates knowledge to review data collected for completeness, accuracy and rectifying data queries.
* Support the Clinical Ward Managers: Prepare ward areas for clinical use, Prepare study documentation, Label laboratory sample tubes, Assist set up activities for subject visits
* Maintains ILS certification
* Act as shift leader.
* Capable of dealing with emergencies and any out of hours procedures required.
* Assist Clinical Ward Managers with aspects of study setup, conduct and end of study activities.
* Responsible for delegated projects to assist Clinical Ward Managers and unit activities.
* Adhere to the protocol and able to utilise time windows efficiently and proactively.
*Experience and Education:*
* Qualified and registered nurse.
* ILS certified.
* Experience in critical care, acute nursing or health screening.
* Demonstrate competence in using computers.
* Demonstrate ability to learn and apply new skills.
