Job Objective:
We are looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team and expand our solar agriculture project portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the agricultural sector. You will work closely with farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders to design and implement innovative solar solutions that enhance agricultural operations and contribute to a sustainable future.
This individual will be expected to offer the best possible customer experience and to always uphold Livoltek’s values.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify potential customers within the agricultural sector which includes but not limited to farms, greenhouses, and agribusinesses.
2. Conduct market research to stay updated on current industry trends in agriculture.
3. Develop a sales strategy to generate market qualified leads and secure new solar agriculture projects.
4. Work with projects team to assess the technical and financial feasibility of solar projects for agricultural clients. Develop proposals that demonstrate the financial and environmental benefits of solar solutions.
5. Negotiate and close contracts with clients.
6. Work closely with project teams to ensure the smooth execution of secured solar agriculture projects.
7. Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with existing and new clients, providing ongoing support and ensuring customer satisfaction.
8. Identify tender opportunities, bid preparation and coordination in order to ensure compliance of the bid.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business development or a similar role.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets and securing new business opportunities.
• Knowledge of solar PV technology and its applications in agriculture
Skills Overview
• Good understanding of renewable energy project development processes.
• Good understanding of the bid requirements for the solar energy industry.
• Ability to travel within and out of South Africa.
