Qualifications and Experience Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but not required Equivalent practical experience or self-taught expertise will be strongly considered Candidates with non-traditional educational backgrounds who can demonstrate relevant skills and knowledge are encouraged to apply Experience (2 5 years) Significant experience in IT systems and network administration Candidates with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including those with: Relevant certifications and hands-on experience A combination of education and practical experience Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies Technical Skills Familiarity with Oracle databases and ability to coordinate with external DBAs Strong knowledge of network administration and performance monitoring tools Experience with software license management, especially Siemens products Proficiency in liaising with software vendors to resolve technical issues Experience in evaluating and implementing new software technologies Familiarity with the installation and maintenance of the specified software applications Security & Compliance Understanding of network security principles Experience with disaster recovery planning and risk management Additional Qualifications Certifications such as CCNA or equivalent are desirable Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) Willingness to provide support outside regular business hours when necessary Key Responsibilities Oracle Database Coordination Perform basic Oracle database administration tasks Coordinate with contracted Oracle DBAs for advanced database requirements Ensure data integrity and assist in data recovery procedures when needed Network Administration & Performance Monitoring Manage and maintain the company's network infrastructure Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime Implement upgrades and enhancements for optimal network efficiency Software License Management Oversee licenses for Siemens products and other engineering applications Ensure compliance with all software licensing agreements Manage data recovery processes related to licensed software IT Systems Maintenance & Technical Support Diagnose and resolve IT system faults to prevent downtime Provide technical support to staff, including after-hours assistance when necessary Maintain overall network security, including disaster recovery and risk management strategies Software Investigation & Future Technologies Investigate future software solutions, such as Process Simulation on Teamcenter Evaluate new technologies to enhance departmental capabilities Provide recommendations on software adoption and integration Communication & Reporting Liaise with Siemens to create Incident Reports (IR) for identifying and resolving software bugs Provide regular updates to department managers on IT issues and resolutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges Software Installation & Maintenance Install and maintain various software applications, including: Oracle Database (with support from DBAs as needed) EMS Server Siemens Process Simulate (Client & Local setup) Foxit Reader Microsoft Teams and Office Suite CAD Exchanger Notepad JT2Go 7-Zip RCS modules for Process simulation. This will be internally taught. DWG TrueView Training & Documentation Create comprehensive training materials and IT procedure documentation Research and manage a Learning Management System (LMS) for ongoing staff training Remote Office Support Provide IT support for remote offices, including tunnel maintenance and uptime monitoring Ensure reliable connectivity and performance for remote operations Infrastructure Upgrades Continuously evaluate and upgrade IT infrastructure to enhance work efficiency Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements Siemens Software Issue Reporting Create detailed Incident Reports (IRs) to document software bugs and issues Collaborate with Siemens support team to investigate and resolve software problems Provide clear, comprehensive information in reports to facilitate efficient bug resolution Follow up on IRs to ensure timely resolution of identified issues Maintain a log of all submitted IRs and their statuses Communicate updates on IR progress to relevant stakeholders within the organization
