Job title: School Cleaner
Location: Oak Tree School, Truro
Salary: £25,287.50 per annum
Hours: 42.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday 6am - 2.30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time plus 3 weeks

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a School Cleaner to join our close-knit team at Oak Tree School located in Truro.
About the role
The School Cleaner will perform a variety of regular and one-off cleaning tasks and duties as directed by the Headteacher
Main Duties:
- To dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture, ledges, window sills, external surfaces of: - cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments
- Empty waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste materials to designated collection points
- To replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required
- To clean toilets, urinals, hand basins and sinks, showers
- Vacuum rugs and carpets and remove stains using brushes and cleaners
General Responsibilities:
- Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically mentioned but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards
- Be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the school and for maintaining high and consistent standards
- Report cleaning supplies requirements and stock levels to the line manager
- Ensure Health & Safety, quality and general procedure compliance
- Work to meet school standards and objectives
- To report any breakages, faulty equipment or Health and Safety issues to the line manager

Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful inspection from Ofsted allowing us to offer a wider age range of pupils from 5 – 18 years the opportunity to have the best education possible. Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These pupils and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.
