This role is based in our SecondarySite, teaching classes aged between 11 and 19, but we are happy to acceptapplications from candidates with QTS status, whether their experience is inPrimary or Secondary Teaching.About the roleAs Dance Teacher for Hillingdon Manor School you will be responsible fordeveloping and improving the skills of the students within the school, whilstencouraging positive learning. You will take a creative approach to teachingpupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the schoolcurriculum in a way that maximises pupils’ achievement and ability to develop.The pupils may display some challenging behaviour due to their differentneeds, so staff are required to have experience. The role will be challenging but rewarding, working in a dynamicenvironment where you can make a real difference.This role is offered for one year.Your duties would include:Plan, deliver and teach small groups.Devise, implement and review individual education and behaviour plansalongside other staff, communicating regularly with parents, carers, teachingand clinical staff to ensure consistencyPositively contribute to the overall programme of learning for each pupil toensure their progression and development whilst promoting the love for danceand movement.Organise your classroom, resources and displays to provide a stimulatinglearning environment for studentsSafeguard all students and ensure their safety and wellbeing at all timesKey Skills Required Have proven experience of teaching children with ASD in either a primary or secondary setting Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum and assessment procedures including working Confident and enthusiastic with the ability to create lesson plans to suit student needs Experience in teaching Music and Dance to a wide range of pupilsSafeguarding is everybody’s business. The welfare and safeguarding of childrenand young people should be of paramount consideration, whatever your role orlevel of responsibility is within the organisation. QTS or QTLS status is essential for this roleAbout usAt Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 185 pupils, agedbetween 3.5 and 19. Located across two sites. Our Secondary School supportsaround 125 pupils.
