Due to unrivalled success in the market, this Global Energy major is seeking driven senior buyers to rise through the ranks of their major project's procurement team. Managing large spends across various direct commodities; the successful individual will engage with senior management at all levels to ensure the consistent development, and implementation, of strategic category plans. Being part of an expanding team, this position has a natural path for progression and could be an ideal move for aspiring Category Managers.
Procurement Category for Construction Responsibilities:
- Play a crucial role in managing procurement activities, ensuring materials and services are sourced in line with contractual terms, and coordinating between different parties involved in the project.
- Responsible for sourcing construction materials, plant, equipment, and subcontractors, ensuring that these comply with the specifications set out in the JCT contract.
- Liaising with project teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contractual obligations
- Negotiate, and create relationships with, internal & external suppliers whilst developing a strong network for each particular market.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in project procurement within construction utilising contract models such as JCT or NEC
- Proven track record of managing a large projects and delivering savings
- Experienced working within a matrix organisation
- History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
- Good communication skills with past experience managing suppliers effectively
