Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking an Earthwork Examiner to join their team on a long-term contract based in Scotland. The role involves responsibility for carrying out comprehensive earthworks examinations in alignment with Network Rail standards, with a focus on ensuring safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out earthworks examinations in line with Network Rail standards
- Prepare, compile, sign, and submit reports for each earthworks examination to the Earthworks Examining Engineer or Earthworks Manager using handheld technology
- Immediately notify the Earthworks Examining Engineer and/or the Earthworks Manager of any defects that pose safety concerns
- Submit urgent defect reports to the Earthworks Manager via the Earthworks Examining Engineer when urgent action is required to maintain safety
- Support the planning of the examination work-bank to manage risk and compliance in accordance with Network Rail Standards
Job Requirements:
- Experience in undertaking Earthworks Examinations, or some experience in geotechnical engineering/engineering geology within Railways
- Competence in NR/L3/CIV/065 standards
- Minimum competency of PTS, with IWA prioritised
- Ability to travel for site visits across Scotland
- Possession of a driving licence and own vehicle
