About the role
This is an exciting time to be joining our team based in the BMW Plant, Cowley. Reporting to the Process Leader, you will be responsible for surveying vehicles for damage as well as the safe and accurate transfer of vehicles from the BMW first point of rest (FPOR) to Train.
This is a flexible opportunity, and you may be requested to work evening, night and weekend shifts depending on the schedule of the trains and volumes of cars expected.
Your daily responsibilities will consist of:
The safe movement of all vehicles under your control from FPOR to the train
The immediate reporting of damage discovered prior to taking control of the vehicle.
The immediate reporting of any damage incurred after taking control of the vehicle.
Loading vehicles as instructed by the Process Leader onto a car transporter freight train
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Be at least 21 years old and have a held full manual driving licence for 12 months.
Must be a safe and confident driver
Be comfortable using fixed ladders to ascend/descend the outside of train
Excellent communication skills.
Successful candidates will be expected to attend Health and Safety Induction and complete an assessment for train discharge. You will be subject to Identification checks, referencing and DVLA checks.
