My client is a highly reputable packaging company in the Northern Suburbs of the Western Cape.
The main task of the role is to ensure that the planning and administrative work for total maintenance and repair of all machinery and company assets, including buildings and premises, as well as continuous modifications and upgrading of machines. This is done to ensure optimal productivity and plant efficiency
Take full responsibility for the Preventative Maintenance of the factory.
• Establish, maintain, and improve the maintenance planning and schedule maintenance shutdowns.
• Scope the full extent of the maintenance work needed to conduct the relevant repair/preventative/predictive/design out activities on machinery.
• Develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work.
• Print and distribute preventative maintenance cards as per schedule.
• Purchase all necessary parts, equipment, services and documentation to perform the maintenance work.
• Write applicable maintenance procedures and update asset information on Pragma system.
• Schedule maintenance work into production plan.
• Collaborate with maintenance supervisor to schedule manpower and resources for the most effective production and maintenance outcomes.
• Apply good stores management practices and parts management to ensure parts and equipment retain full reliability while stored.
• Capture maintenance cards on Pragma system as well as verification for completeness and analyse Pragma reports.
• Able and competent in root cause analysis, and investigation.
• Ensure the accurate and timeous completion of all administrative duties.
• Ensure cards are filed as per agreed process and system
• Ensure no backlog of ad hoc and PM job cards on the system
• Ensure that machinery adhere to Like New standards.
People Management
• Managing day-to-day issues on property maintenance
• Ensure optimal performance.
Ensure plant efficiency as well as fostering a positive work attitude among team members and labour flexibility
Safety and Housekeeping
• Always ensure occupational safety and housekeeping.
• Conducting regular safety and housekeeping inspections.
• Implementing safe working standards and procedures.
Overseeing that contractors adhere to safe working practices and regulations, to minimize unnecessary injuries on duty as well as ensuring a safe and neat working environment for optimal productivity.
Position Requirements
• 3 Years relevant experience in a FMCG environment
• Relevant maintenance, planning, and scheduling experience.
Valid, unendorsed Drivers and Forklift license – must be more than 2 years old
