Summary The team leader is responsible for leading and motivating a production shift Ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining safety and quality standards and promotes sound employee relations and employee development and training Position Accountabilities Shop floor industrial relations including discipline and grievance handling refer to recognition agreement, grievance, code of conduct and disciplinary procedure Develop training matrix for team (refer to training procedure) Conduct competency declaration and documentation New employee and 2 yearly induction refreshers for existing employees (refer to induction procedure) Coach and training team members in accordance with standardized work procedures Role Accountabilities Demonstrate behaviors in line with company SA CORE Values Implementing ergonomics and corporate safety standards and procedures and ensure compliance (refer to company safety policy, procedure, and standards) Ensure full compliance of the company Group and local safety standards policies, and procedures Report risks and opportunities for improvement related to duties Responsibilities Conducting safety audits Incident investigations Reports SIO's Housekeeping - adherence to standards Reporting safety performance Ensures production targets are met Track and monitor shift production output and action variations Implement lean tools and techniques, 5s, 7 wastes Value stream mapping and line balancing Supervision/Manage of waste material and feedback report to GL weekly Routine checks on production members Reports production performance Required Minimum Education /Training Senior Certificate and or equivalent NQF level 4 Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment Computer literacy(Microsoft package and Syspro) Strong hand on individual and team player
