Accounts Manager

Our client is seeking a qualified or QBE accountant who is forward thinking and enthusiastic to lead and manage a small team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Directors and be responsible for maintaining the financial processes, preparing year-end accounts, and managing payroll.
Responsibilities of an Accounts Manager:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounts department.
- Prepare multi sets of year-end accounts to trial balance.
- Maintain personal account records and assist with self-Assessment submissions.
- Handle loans, mortgage schedules, and manage multiple bank accounts.
- Sales and purchase ledger checks, bank statement uploads, and reconciliation.
- Process payroll for salaried, hourly, and weekly staff, including pension and HMRC submissions.
- Ensure timely VAT returns, manage payment runs, and handle credit card reconciliations.
- Manage pension enrolments, PAYE submissions, and salary payments.
- Maintain asset and liability schedules and manage payroll software.
Requirements to be successful as an Accounts Manager:
- Qualified or QBE Accountant with experience of managing a small team. This role would also be suitable for someone who is looking to move out of practice.
- Strong financial management experience with proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software.
- Proven experience in payroll management, including pensions and HMRC submissions.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with staff and external stakeholders and committed to making a positive contribution to the college.
