Finance Manager - Western Cape
Main purpose of this role:
Heading up the Finance Department and ensuring the professional management and automation of the financial administration of TSIBA group of companies, maintaining financial integrity of financial processes and credibility with all stakeholders, and ensuring legal and statutory compliance of the TSIBA group of companies.
Job Specification
Key Performance Areas/Responsibilities:
- KPA 1: Strategic Financial Management (TBSTET) (35%)
- Build an efficient technical financial system that is sound, has integrity, will protect the staff and guide the executives.
- Identify, create and amend financial policies and procedures, up to and including the ratification process.
- Financial analysis and reporting, ensuring alignment with TSIBA’s goals.
- Month-end analysis of reports to management.
- Investment and Cash Flow Monitoring.
- Overall responsibility for short and long term budget preparation, monitoring, forecasting and reporting.
- Assist Fundraising Department with specific budgetary requirements of proposals.
- Financial leadership and management of TSIBA Business School Tuition Fee income.
- KPA 2: Company Secretarial and Governance (30%)
- Preparation of year-end audits, cooperation with auditors during audit and finalisation of Annual Financial Statements for TSIBA Group entities.
- Ensure compliance of auditor recommendations for TSIBA collective entities.
- Ensure legal and statutory compliance of the TSIBA group of companies regarding SARS, CIPC, DSD, LABOUR, BBBEE.
- Assist with the preparation of pre-reading documentation and attend Audit & Risk and Sustainability Committees.
- Assist with financial reporting for the Executive Committee, the TBS Board and Trustees of TET.
- Responsible for integrated financial reporting for the TSIBA collective (TBS, TET and TIA).
- KPA 3: Manage our Financial System (15%)
- Keeping licensing up-to-date.
- Ensuring that Finance personnel and staff are adequately trained in the use of the financial system.
- Ensure online-banking facility is maintained and correctly administered.
- KPA 4: TSIBA Inventory Management (5%)
- Maintain SOP on Inventory Management within TSIBA (stationery, marketing merchandise, perishable supplies, etc).
- Implement and monitor Inventory Management System.
- Additional: (15%)
- Participation in EXCO.
- The ability to perform any other financial activity when another member of Finance Team is unavailable to do so.

- Experience and Qualifications:
- Finance degree and a minimum of ten years experience at Financial Management level.
- Must know all legislation with regard to SARS, SDL, EE, Labour and other accounting regulations (GAAP, IFRS).
- IC and/or Xero Accounting system proficiency and taking all accounting processes to Trial Balance.
- PaySpace Payroll experience.
- Ability to automate financial systems.
- Basic knowledge of Companies Act and Income Tax Act and other relevant SA legal and financial requirements.
- Financial Management.
- Budgeting, Forecasting and Cash Flow Management.
- Exposure to Company Secretarial an advantage.
