Accountant Job Description
The overall objective of the Accountant is to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
- Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet profit and loss, and other statements.
- Analyses financial trends.
- Monthly Finance Reporting.
- VAT Preparation and submissions.
- Manage weekly and monthly payments.
- Completes external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
- Prepare Forecast costs and Revenues.
- Prepare Budgets.
- Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years’ financial experience.

- Detail-oriented.
- Able to work well with a team and under pressure.
- Must be diligent and time competent in order to meet deadlines.
- Must be client service focused (internal clients/staff).
- Must be honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
- Be willing to work flexible hours.
