Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To report on inspections on Mineral commodities, in accordance with instructions received from the Commodity Coordinator.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain quality, efficiency and confidentiality of service
- Liaise with Commodity Coordinator
- Continuously upgrade the quality of services offered
- Establish, direct and review the system of application, recording, certification, filing, sample storage and field auditing
- Communicate with other branches/divisions and the laboratory to achieve required turnaround time for all submitted samples
- Compile spreadsheets of results, updating daily and reporting to clients
- Assist Commodity Coordinator
- Liaise with the Clients
- Carry out or supervise submittal of samples with sample submission form
- Ensure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection order
- Keep direct superior informed regarding progress and/or non-conformance
- Liaise with local clients regarding pertinent details and information related to the operations
- Assist in continuously upgrading the quality of services offered, in support of the “Customer Services” policy and minimize client complaints and claims
- Check the inspector’s claim forms in context with work executed
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
SPECIFIC AUTHORITIES
- Cease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environment without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to action
- Cease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situations to higher authority to take action
- Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identified.
Qualifications
Education
- Computer Literacy in Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook
Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of trade-related experience or similar
- Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)
- Typing Skills
- If the incumbent is new in the industry, background and qualifications shall be a criteria
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to problem solve
- Calculation capability – to ensure accurate scoring of clients' results.
