Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
Reference: Pta003255-EP-2
Lead Mechanical Design Engineer required with at least 10 years experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a lead/managerial role. Ability to manage Mechanical design engineers and act as a mentor is essential. Candidates must hold a B Eng. Degree or B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have 3D CAD experience. This role primarily serves a USA client base, and candidates must be willing to travel to the USA for variable periods. The position involves international design of equipment in the automotive field.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership
- Interface with customers to help establish and prioritize the utilization of design resources
- Delegate work to assigned engineering personnel
- Direct and guide design engineers on technical related issues
- Manage project/task timelines to ensure that agreed milestones are reached and communicate and plan for non-compliance in a timely manner
- Take responsibility for the technical soundness and compliance of designs to the customer’s and general engineering practices and standards
- Organize and lead “internal” design reviews to ensure that designs reviewed with the customer are properly checked for soundness and compliance
- Lead design reviews with the customer and suppliers
- Lead CAD Design
- Willing to travel overseas for variable periods
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- B Eng. Degree or B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical design engineering experience (10-15 years)
- 3D CAD experience
