The Playhouse Company, situated in Durban is looking to fill the position of HOD: Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
• Managing the company's marketing and communication initiatives.
• Using market research and analysis to direct marketing and communication plans.
• Oversees the production of all communication and promotional materials (print and electronics) and communication and marketing campaigns to ensure that there is growth in the number of audiences attending performances and that the Company’s brand is extended.
• Creating, designing, and delivering various marketing and communication programmes, utilizing various platforms to promote the Company’s Artistic programmes.
• Develops and manages the Marketing budget, directs, and controls the day-to-day operation of the department, and ensures that all the Marketing KPIs are met
Key Responsibilities:
A successful candidate shall be the Head of Department and be responsible for;
• Implementing marketing and communication strategy to assist in broadening the reach through growth in the number of Artists involved, and the audiences attending performances.
• Implementing Marketing and Communication activities to ensure the strengthening of The Playhouse Company brand and marketing of in-house productions.
• Targeting marketing interventions to develop future audiences and build performing arts appreciation.
• Construct and or manage resources, such as human capital and the overall marketing budget.
• Construct and execute excellent report writing skills for yearly, quarterly, and monthly reports; production programmes; press releases for online platforms, radio, TV, and print media
• Astute working knowledge of SCM processes.
• Manage, train, and lead the marketing team towards the attainment of all business and Marketing objectives.
• Manage the performance of all communication channels.
• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for the Marketing department.
Minimum Requirements:
• An energetic person who is in possession of a Diploma/Degree in Marketing or a relevant field.
• Postgraduate qualification will be advantageous.
• A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a Marketing environment role or similar, in a Supervisory or Managerial position
• Strong computer literacy, excellent copywriting, and copy-editing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as strong report writing and presentation skills.
• A proven strategic and leadership capability, and excellent project management. and financial skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analysis,
• People management and empowerment skills.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Honesty and integrity. Advanced knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), SCM policy framework, Treasury regulations, and Public Service Act, and regulations.
