Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled and visionary General Manager of Research & Development for a leading multinational food products corporation. Responsibilities
- Direct the strategy, prioritization, and execution of innovation projects at local, regional, and global levels.
- Supervise product development, improvement, and commercialization, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to shape and refine R&D strategies.
- Work closely with global Centers of Excellence (COEs) and cross-functional teams to implement and expand innovations.
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept through to market introduction.
- Ensure that products are manufactured with optimal efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and flexibility.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and co-manufacturers to ensure smooth project transitions.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, and factory teams to align innovation efforts with business objectives.
- Collaborate with global COEs and Technology teams to define long-term innovation strategies.
- Lead and mentor a large team of R&D professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and innovation.
- Motivate and engage team members to align their efforts with the company’s goals.
- Influence stakeholders and provide expert advice to guide business strategies and innovation pipelines.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration to meet financial goals and business priorities.
- Cultivate a culture of innovation and ensure the smooth and timely execution of product development processes.
- Drive efficient innovation processes to ensure products are launched on time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Product Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degree is a plus.
- At least 10 years of experience in R&D, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership positions.
- Proven success in leading innovation initiatives, including product development and market introduction.
- Experience in the bakery and emulsions industries is preferred.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with hands-on experience in product development.
- Ability to think strategically and turn market insights into actionable R&D plans.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strong business acumen, including experience in managing budgets and resources.
- Results-oriented, innovative mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, especially in ambiguous situations.
