Sanlam was established as a life insurance company in South Africa but has since transformed into a diversified financial services group that operates across the African continent, India, Malaysia and selected developed markets, with listings on the Johannesburg, A2X and Namibian stock exchanges. The Group's five business clusters (Sanlam Fintech, Sanlam Life and Savings, Sanlam Investment Group, Sanlam Allianz and Santam) house the Group's business operations. The Group Office provides strategic direction and support to the five clusters, assisting them in realising their strategies and meeting their business objectives. The Group Office is responsible for governance and for the Group's centralised functions, which include: Finance, Actuarial and Risk Management, Strategy, Human Resources, Market Development and Sustainability.
What will you do?
This is a specialist management support role within the Sanlam Foundation that does not have any direct reports. This role assists and advises managers on the financial implications of business decisions to drive the Sanlam Foundation strategy and achieve measurable impact across the various programmes that the Sanlam Foundation funds and runs.
Responsibilities of the job include:
Financial Management Functions: compiling and managing budgets and forecasts, facilitate account payments, purchase requisitions, expenses, undertaking financial administration, preparation of reconciliations, facilitate internal and external audit processes from planning to completion. Taxation: Income tax preparation and submission; VAT calculations, reconciliations and submission Reporting: monthly financial reporting; quarterly Trustee and Board reporting; preparation of annual financial statements including commentaries; B-BBEE reporting and audit verification

Preparation of monthly expense reports, forecasts and variance analysis Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for specified cost centres Processing of invoices Preparation of monthly reconciliations Preparation of quarterly management accounts and financial reports for Board of Trustees Preparation of annual financial statements Provide information pertaining to internal and external audits Preparation and submission of annual income tax return Preparation and submission VAT 201 return Preparation of B-BBEE reporting
Qualification and Experience
Matric/Grade 12 Senior Certificate Accounting Diploma\Degree or equivalent qualification will be advantageous Articles will be advantageous At least 3 years’ experience in a financial role Experience in an Non Profit Organissation environment will be advantageous
