Position: Junior Assistant Financial Consultant (SAICA 1st Year Trainee)
Location: Cape Town City Centre, Western Cape
Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Subject to a three-month probation period)
Start Date: 1 February 2025
About the Role
We are seeking motivated individuals who are ready to begin their SAICA articles and gain valuable experience in accounting and financial management. As a Junior Assistant Financial Consultant, you will work closely with our CFO services team to support clients' financial operations and contribute to key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Client-Focused Accounting & CFO Support
- Participate in CFO and accounting engagements for a diverse range of clients.
- Review monthly management reports and provide forecasts.
- Meet with clients to explain financial positions, assist with tax planning, and address queries.
- Assist in the preparation of client budgets and track performance monthly.
- Provide ad hoc assistance to clients in evaluating financial models.
- Draft annual financial statements and assist with independent reviews under supervision.
Programme Support
- Screen and identify suitable companies for fundraising projects.
- Perform gap analyses to identify growth opportunities.
- Assist in implementing strategic interventions for optimal fundraising strategies.
- Build and evaluate financial models for client companies.
- Support clients with due diligence and pitch preparation for fundraising rounds.
Administrative Duties
- Update task statuses, complete time tracking, and manage priorities in Zoho.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheets.
- Maintain and update task planners, managing expectations for completion.
- Attend internal CFO department meetings regularly.
SAICA Trainee Obligations
- Ensure compliance with SAICA's training requirements, including evaluations and queries.
- Complete Letters of Recommendation (LORs) monthly and Professional Development Summaries (PDS) every six months as per SAICA regulations.
