We are seeking an experienced and reliable Code 14 driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Code 14 driver’s license and have extensive experience operating heavy trucks and they will be based in Gauteng.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Vehicle Operation
· Safely operate heavy motor vehicles, including trucks and trailers, ensuring all legal and safety requirements are met.
2. Transport Duties
· Deliver goods and materials to specified destinations as scheduled, maintaining timely and accurate delivery.
3. Vehicle Maintenance
· Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle before and after trips. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the maintenance team promptly.
4. Loading and Unloading
· Ensure that goods are correctly loaded and secured to prevent damage during transit. Assist with the loading and unloading process as needed.
5. Record Keeping
· Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, delivery times, and any incidents or delays encountered during trips.
6. Compliance
· Adhere to all traffic laws and company regulations, including road safety and environmental policies.
7. Customer Interaction
· Provide excellent customer service, addressing any delivery-related issues or concerns professionally.
8. Documentation
· Ensure all necessary delivery documents, including waybills and invoices, are completed accurately and submitted as required.
6.1 Qualifications
· Matric
· Valid Code 14 driver's license and PdP
· 6 + years of experience as a Code 14 Driver
· Candidate must have basic knowledge and be able to hook and unhook trailers from and to a horse
· Candidate must have strong attention to detail and safety
· Excellent driving skills and knowledge of road safety regulations
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Good communication and navigation skills
· Physical ability to lift and move cargo (if required).
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
