Overview
Hire Resolve’s client is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for managing financial information and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial statements. They will play a critical role in maintaining financial records, preparing budgets, and analyzing financial data to support the financial decision-making process. The Accountant will work closely with the finance team to enhance financial controls and procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely recording, coding, and processing of financial transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting principles. Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Analyze financial data and support management decision-making by providing insights and recommendations for improvement. Support the finance team in managing financial audits and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide necessary information for audits and financial reporting. Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role. In-depth knowledge of South African accounting standards and regulations. Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. Solid understanding of financial reporting and analysis. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
