Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team in the multi-disciplinary building industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring that costs are managed effectively and projects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, and time. Negotiate and agree on the contracts and terms with contractors and subcontractors. Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure budget adherence. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and assess project adherence to plans and specifications. Provide accurate and timely cost reporting and forecasting. Manage and administer contracts, including evaluating and processing payments, variations, and claims. Advise on procurement strategy and manage the procurement process. Prepare detailed progress reports and present them to project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with all contractual and legal requirements. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a National Diploma in Civil Engineering. Professional accreditation (. PrQS) is preferred. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the multi-disciplinary building industry. Extensive knowledge of construction methods and materials. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as MS Office, CCS Candy, and BuildSmart. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
