Job Description
As the Area Sales Manager specializing in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), you will be responsible for driving revenue through the sale of event spaces and accommodations for corporate meetings, incentive trips, conferences, and exhibitions. Your primary focus will be on cultivating relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and industry partners to generate business opportunities and achieve sales targets.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, MICE, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to attract MICE business and achieve revenue targets. Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through targeted prospecting and networking efforts. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and industry stakeholders. Understand their needs, preferences, and objectives to tailor offerings and provide personalized solutions that exceed expectations. Collaborate closely with Sales and F&B team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of MICE events. Provide support and guidance throughout the planning process to ensure client satisfaction and successful outcomes. Prepare customized proposals, presentations, and contracts tailored to the specific requirements of each MICE event. Clearly communicate the value proposition of our offerings and negotiate terms to secure profitable business. Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments related to the MICE segment. Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and adaptation. Implement pricing strategies and promotional initiatives to maximize revenue and profitability for MICE events. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services and amenities. Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, operations, and catering, to ensure alignment and synergy in delivering exceptional MICE experiences. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Proven track record of success in hotel sales, with a focus on the MICE segment. Strong network of contacts within the corporate and events industry. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Opera cloud system. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
