IT Support Specialist

Our client, a key player in the Global mining supply industry, is on the lookout for a highly motivated and skilled IT Support Specialist to join their team in Midrand, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining our computer systems, devices, and networks, ensuring they operate efficiently and securely. This role involves providing technical support and training to staff both in person and remotely, as well as managing IT assets and software licenses.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware
- Configure and install user devices and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty devices and peripherals.
- Ensure all devices are updated and comply with security protocols.
- Provide user support and training as required.
- Manage and update the IT asset register.
Software - Install and manage relevant software on user devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues promptly.
- Ensure all software is licensed and updated.
- Provide user support and training.
Networking - Manage networks across the organization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
- Ensure network security protocols are implemented and enforced.
- Report relevant network queries to appropriate authorities.
Minimum Selection Criteria
- High level of knowledge in software, hardware, and networking.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Time management and customer service skills.
- Tertiary IT hardware and software support qualification preferred.
- IT support experience is essential.
- Inquisitive nature and ability to resolve issues.
- Ability to influence team members across the organization.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
