Purpose of the Job
As our ICT Security Administrator, youll play a crucial role in safeguarding our organizations digital fortress. Your mission? To implement, manage, and maintain robust security measures that shield our ICT systems and infrastructure from cyber threats.
Responsibilities:
- Security System Management:
- Configure, monitor, and fine-tune security tools (firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption tools).
- Stay ahead of the game by regularly updating and patching security systems to fend off vulnerabilities.
- Keep a watchful eye on network traffic and system logs, swiftly responding to any suspicious activity.
Access Control and User Management: - Be the gatekeeper! Ensure that only authorized personnel have access to specific systems and sensitive data.
- Regularly review and adjust user permissions according to organizational policies.
- Implement multi-factor authentication
Incident Response: - When trouble knocks, youll be there! Respond promptly to security incidents, containing and resolving them
- Document incidents and assist in investigations, working closely with IT and security teams.
Security Audits and Compliance: - Conduct regular security audits to ensure (organizational policies and industry standards).
- Help prep for internal and external security auditsyour attention to detail matters!
- Keep meticulous records of security activities and compliance status.
Security Awareness and Training: - Educate our team! Assist in developing and delivering security awareness training programs.
- Be the friendly face of best practicesguide users on maintaining top-notch security hygiene.
Vulnerability Management: - Regularly assess vulnerabilities through tests and assessments.
- Collaborate with the ICT team to enhance our security controls.
Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, procedures, and incidents.
- Whip up regular security reports for management, highlighting risks and mitigation efforts.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent (Related NQF level 6 qualification)
- MCSE / MCSA certifications
Ideal Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in information security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- ITIL foundation certification
- COBIT/CGEIT knowledge
Experience:
- 3 years as a System Administrator
- 3 years as an ICT Security Administrator
