Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Transport Planner to join their Birmingham team. In this key role, you will oversee and manage transport planning projects, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery of statements and plans that meet client needs. Main Duties:
- Prepare Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans
- Conduct junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and authorities
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant task delivery
- Oversee junior team members and check their work quality
- Support team leaders with Highways & Transport advice
- Undertake site appraisals, surveys, and reports
- Assist with project file management and other related tasks
- Play an active role in growing the Birmingham office
Requirements:
- Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, or Civil Engineering
- 6+ years of experience in UK Transport Planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG
- AutoCAD experience (desirable)
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to manage workloads
- Professional and approachable
