The successful candidate will be an experienced Facilities/Maintenance Manager responsible for overseeing the planning, functioning, and performance of the department across multiple sites. This includes people management, strategic planning, and reporting responsibilities.
Requirements: - Grade 12/Matric Certificate
- Tertiary qualification in Facilities/Maintenance/Engineering or related field (beneficial)
- Valid Drivers license
- Candidates residing in Franschhoek and surrounds (advantageous)
Experience and Skills: - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Facilities/Maintenance Manager
- Experience in hotel or property maintenance (advantageous)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong planning, process excellence, and service delivery skills
- Experience with CAPEX & Operational budgeting
- Expertise in preventative maintenance planning and execution
- Attention to detail with innovative ideas for improvement
- Ability to build and lead high-performance teams and collaborate across departments
- Proven experience managing large teams
Main Responsibilities: - Oversee, manage, and maintain all maintenance areas to meet hotel operational requirements
- Plan, supervise, and execute maintenance schedules for hotel equipment and vehicles
- Collaborate closely with Hotel Managers, Group Operational Manager, and Department Heads to ensure timely resolution of maintenance requests with excellent record-keeping and efficient feedback
- Develop a preventative maintenance program compliant with warranties, safety legislation, and industry best practices
- Ensure safe and secure usage of all equipment
- Train, guide, and develop staff in required skills
- Minimize downtime by ensuring malfunctioning equipment is repaired promptly
- Maintain adequate stock levels of frequently used equipment and supplies
- Keep thorough records of inspections, stock control, and purchasing activities
- Obtain competitive price quotes from reliable suppliers and build a base of approved service providers
- Prepare annual maintenance budgets, including purchases for machinery or CAPEX items, and manage labour and material costs
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards
