This role will play a key part in supporting both strategic and operational HR functions, ensuring compliance with HR policies and providing a positive employee experience.
Role Overview: As an HR Generalist, you will manage the day-to-day HR operations, including the administration of policies, procedures, and programs. You will be the go-to person for both employees and managers, supporting the full employee lifecyclefrom recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding.
Key Responsibilities: - Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates to ensure the best fit for the role and company culture.
- Lead the onboarding process, ensuring new hires have a smooth transition into their roles.
Employee Relations & Engagement: - Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries related to HR policies and procedures.
- Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide support in resolving employee relations issues and mediate conflicts when necessary.
Performance Management: - Coordinate and support the performance review process, including coaching managers and employees.
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans where needed.
Compliance & Policy Management: - Ensure all HR policies are current and compliant with South African labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain employee records and handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
- Assist with internal HR audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Compensation & Benefits Administration: - Oversee payroll administration, employee benefits, and compensation packages.
- Provide employees with guidance on benefits and salary-related questions.
- Assist in the annual salary review process and administer employee benefits.
Learning & Development: - Support learning and development initiatives, coordinating training programs and identifying training needs.
- Assist in developing leadership programs for managers and future leaders within the company.
HR Data & Reporting: - Maintain accurate HR records and generate HR reports such as headcount, turnover, and performance statistics to inform strategic decisions.
Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong knowledge of South African labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar HR Generalist role.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and compliance is essential.
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion.
