Senior Art Director Johannesburg and Cape Town

Location: Johannesburg and Cape Town, Western Cape, Gauteng

We are seeking a talented Senior Art Director to join our client's dynamic team, where you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing creative concepts for a diverse range of clients. This visionary individual will collaborate closely with copywriters, designers, and other team members to develop compelling visual stories that drive brand success.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the conceptualisation and execution of innovative visual concepts for integrated marketing campaigns across various media platforms, including print, digital, social media, and television.
Partner with copywriters, designers, and other creatives to develop cohesive and compelling campaigns that meet client objectives and elevate the brand.
Present creative concepts to clients, articulating the vision behind the work and incorporating feedback to refine and enhance the final output.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deliverables meet high-quality standards and are delivered on time.
Guide and mentor junior designers and art directors, fostering a collaborative and nurturing creative environment.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously bring fresh ideas and insights to the team.
Ensure all creative work aligns with the client's brand identity and strategy while maintaining a high level of creativity and innovation.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 5-7 years in an art director role, preferably within a creative agency environment.
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Advertising, or a related field.
A strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative work across different media, demonstrating an ability to deliver high-quality and innovative visual solutions.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with a solid understanding of typography, layout, and design principles. Experience with video editing and motion graphics is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and defend creative ideas.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently, demonstrating a strong sense of accountability and initiative.
Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to tackle complex creative challenges and deliver effective solutions.
