1. Maximize sales and control expenses
2. Stock control and stock – take weekly
3. Complete store operational requirements by:
1. Scheduling and assigning employees;
2. following up on work results
4. Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
5. Maintain store staff results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
6. Prepare annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions
7. Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
8. Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories
9. Secure merchandise by monitoring security systems and measures
10. Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment
11. Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
12. Set up effective marketing displays for the sales floor and store windows
13. Manage all controllable costs to keep operations profitable
14. Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales
15. Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning
16. Respond to customer complaints and comments
17. Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
18. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
19. Any other duties as and when may be required by Area Manager/Ops Manager
