Job Outputs: Key Performance Area Strategy, policy and systems: - Develop and implement OHS standards for company.
- Develop frameworks and guidelines for infrastructure, projects and operations inspection to ensure compliance to airport license requirements; international standards; national and local legislation together with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate policies and systems are developed, communicated and implemented to monitor compliance.
Safety, Compliance and Risk Management: - Monitor and ensure adherence to local and international regulatory requirements, organisational standards, policies, and procedures at network level, OHS Act, Construction Regulations, ICAO and CAA.
- Advising, and reporting to operations and management on procedural and legal requirements in respect of safety, health and environmental functions.
- Ensure remedial actions are implemented timeously to address non-conformances.
- Investigation and reporting of incidents and accidents as well as the design and implementation of remedial actions.
- Ensure effective and regular communication of new statutory regulations, organisational standards and policies to ensure full awareness and compliance amongst stakeholders.
- Accountable for regular inspections and combines assurance nationally.
- Plan and implement safety inspections and audits in line with the requirements for Safety.
- Management System in accordance with ICAO and SACAA.
- Ensure SMS, HIRA, EMS procedures are implemented and adhered to approved.
- Manage the legislated OHSACT safety appointments for Company.
People Management: - Plan, organise, lead and control subordinate's activities to ensure sub-functional objectives are met or exceeded.
- Manage people development initiatives, succession planning and talent management to meet functional performance standards.
- Agree and implement own and sub-ordinates development plans.
- Coach team and create a pro-learning environment. Assess team development needs and close gaps.
Financial Management: - Develop and implement OPEX budget.
- Track, monitor and report on expenditure.
Stakeholder Management: - Provide technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
- Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals. Implement remedial actions where required.
- Convene and facilitate the safety committees and forums as well as participating in Civil Aviation Regulations Committees.
Qualifications: Bachelor Honours Degree NQFL8
Experience: 10 years of experience.
