ProStaffSelect are in search of a highly skilled HEAD PASTRY CHEF / ARTISAN BAKER / PATISSERIE SPECIALIST to oversee daily production of skilled pastry chefs at this artisan outlet and speciality Cake Studio & celebrated Dessert & Pastry Production label . With customers paying high prices for sour dough breads and a variety of hand-crafted products including croissants, decorated party cakes and confectioneries, all items are made with love and care – all from scratch; no short cuts, no premixes, no compromises on quality – professional craft, pure excellence and attention to detail.
The diverse range of specialty freshly baked items include:
- A selection of tarts and tartlets,
- Almond, chocolate, and plain croissants
- Sourdough, rye breads and speciality loaves
- A variety of 13 different types of cookies, meringues, and seasonal pantry items and confectioneries
- Individual Cakes (7-10 cm) in approximately 12 different varieties
- Custom ordered Novelty, Deli, and Wedding Cakes, with a range of sizes, finishes and decoration requests
The successful candidate will work closely with the owner to ensure that every aspect of the kitchen's output is synchronized with their business objectives and creative vision.
REQUIREMENTS
- Formal Patisserie & Artisan Baking Qualification with at least 5 – 6 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Exceptional administration, organizational and leadership skills to manage, develop and inspire the team
- Strong personality to drive and accelerate the production process
- Extraordinary attention to detail with a genuine passion for the craft and excitement in building a premier brand
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- A creative mindset that not only follows industry trends but rather sets them
- Versatility in handling various functions of the business, from baking and decorating to training and sales
- A determined can-do mind set and attitude
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and innovate recipes that cater to diverse dietary needs
- Conduct training sessions for staff to enhance their culinary skills
- Oversee the creation and production of bakery products
- Manage inventory levels, place orders, and adhere to budget constraints
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen
- Engage with customers, providing exceptional service and support
- Collaborate with the team, demonstrating hands-on involvement in all operational aspects
- Ensure that all products, whether displayed in-store or online, align with our overarching vision
