Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science (BSc), Geology/Earth Science and/or a postgraduate degree in a related field, 1 - 3 years’ experience required
in contaminated land assessments and remediation projects. Field sampling experience in the sampling of environmental media (soil, groundwater, surface water and waste) would be advantageous. Proficiency in MS Office with intermediate Excel and Word knowledge and an aptitude to learn and work with various digital applications. A willingness and ability to travel and conduct fieldwork. A valid drivers’ license Key Responsibilities Provide technical input into all facets of contaminated site projects including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and remediation projects. Impart knowledge and the practical application of Health & Safety requirements unique to subsurface investigations and contaminated sites. Leading field data-collection programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, vapor, aquifer testing and remediation systems. Coordinate laboratory services and interpret/visualize environmental data. Input to technical reports. Build professional knowledge by keeping up to date with specialist area trends and best Practice Offer ideas around how to improve process and/or policy to deliver better more effective and efficient service Work to agreed budgets and timeframes, and seeks advice and agreement where there are conflicting requirements or impracticalities Carry out appropriate business administration/ coordination tasks to support the SLR’s business and quality management system. Communicate clearly with peers, colleagues, clients, sub-contractors, as applicable, to ensure understanding and alignment around work Build successful and effective working relationships with immediate colleagues, team and within the office to ensure delivery of tasks and to strengthen knowledge/resource base. Participates in own career development, including contributing to and achieving development goals. Effectively respond to specific internal client enquiries on existing work procedures or past work.
Skills/Attributes: Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), with demonstrated skill in technical report writing. Excellent time management skills and an ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Should be able to work well in a team and communicate confidently with others. Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols. The ability to work to deadlines and within set budgets is essential
