Job Description
Responsible for total revenue management strategy and tactics, working in tandem with the sales, marketing and operational teams to maximise revenue opportunities in rooms and groups. Development and implementation of effective revenue management processes, pricing strategies and inventory management for all segments based on future demand forecast, current and historical trends.
Commercial Responsibilities
- Deliver the annual budgeted total revenues alongside the sales and marketing team.
- Prepare annual commercial business plan as well as budget for all revenue streams.
- Ensure clear vision of sales objectives for the business, communicated to all stakeholders.
- Execute the commercial strategy via monthly Revenue Meetings, Monthly Business reviews and board meetings.
- Ensure all distribution channels are fit for purpose.
- Work closely with Sales & Marketing to direct sales efforts with specific demand generation requirements.
- Monitor competitor activity and strategies; adjust tactics/strategies if necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market demand generators.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly reporting to analyze booking patterns and business trends.
- Complete a detailed month end review with accurate figures and relevant commentary.
- Set clear pricing strategies across all revenue generating departments.
- Evaluate the Reserves presence and opportunities for improvement on all e-channels.
- Implement SOPs.
Team Management
- Support the Reservations team for rooms.
- Work closely with Finance management for target setting and performance measurement.
- Maintain effective personal development plans and performance reviews for the team.
- Ensure the strategy is supported by an appropriate organizational structure.
- Foster a "commercial performance culture" with incentives, development, and recognition systems.
Measurement
- Delivery of total revenue versus budget and last year.
- Delivery of agreed revenue results against primary competitive set.
Qualifications
Relevant hospitality management qualification.
Skills
- Experience in a similar role within a game lodge/hospitality operation is advantageous.
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to identify travel trends.
- Manage OTAs.
- Target driven.
- Ability to handle budgets.
- Sales experience is an advantage.
- Candidate must be based in Durban area.
