Stellenbosch University Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) Fundraiser and Partnerships Coordinator: Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (Job Level 8) Ref. TGB11/219/0824
Reporting to: The Rector and Vice-Chancellor.
Requirements:
- Higher education and employment experience: a degree in business, science, medical and health science or a related field; and at least five years’ applicable experience in stakeholder management, communications, sales and marketing or the like.
- Relationship management: excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain strong, enduring relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Fundraising expertise: proven experience in fundraising or income-generation, particularly within the context of higher education, health sciences or non-profit sectors.
- Strategic thinking: the ability to develop and implement plans to achieve fundraising goals.
- Communication skills: strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate the mission, goals and needs of the FMHS.
- Collaborative skills: the ability to work with colleagues in order to align efforts and maximise fundraising potential.
- Organisational skills: strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Credibility and trustworthiness: the ability to establish credibility with key Faculty members and to become a trusted member of the DAR team.
Recommendations:
- Experience of working with data and relationship-focused software.
- In-depth knowledge of the principles and practices of philanthropic funding, including moves management strategies and donor stewardship.
- Experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders simultaneously.
- A positive, ‘can do’ attitude and the willingness to adapt and learn new skills.
