We have an exciting opportunity at our Westerleigh Site for a Knife Room Operator to work alongside and support the production team. Reporting to the Butchery Chargehand the successful candidate will be required to work within a fast-paced environment.
Working Hours:Monday to Friday from 9:15am 7:00pm - 45 hours/week
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- The storage and traceability of all knives used on site.
- Ensuring that blades are maintained to the required standard and issued correctly.
- Completing start of production checks to ensure the environment and equipment is fit for food production.
- Ensuring all equipment is washed at the end of the day in line with our SOPs.
- Running the knife machines at the required chemical concentration.
- Conduct weekly chemical testing in line with our current SOPs.
- Ensure the room is secure when unattended and any loss reported immediately.
- Ideally candidates will have:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A good level of written and spoken English is required to ensure thorough and accurate record keeping.
The successful candidate will be COSHH trained and also trained on how to hone, sharpen and polish all knives including wizard blades.
Applicants will need to have a can do attitude and the ability to work unsupervised. They will need to have a good attention to detail.
