Christian Art Distributors currently has a vacancy for a payroll and general admin assistant to be based full-time at our head office in Vereeniging (Vaal Triangle), within the wholesale and retail sector.
Job description
As a payroll and general admin assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our administrative functions. You will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, handling various administrative tasks, and providing support to our HR and finance departments.
Duties and responsibilities
Payroll administration:
Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Maintain payroll records and handle payroll-related enquiries.
Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and other statutory requirements.
General administration:
Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Support HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee records management.
Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documents.
Maintain a clean and organised office environment.
Desired experience and qualifications
Qualifications:
Proven experience in payroll processing and general administrative duties.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of relevant labour laws and regulations is a plus.
Education and experience:
At least four years of experience in a similar role.
Relevant qualifications will be advantageous.
