A well-established and successful manufacturing organisation based near Shrewsbury. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join the purchasing team.
Your new role
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for managing the procurement of a portfolio of key direct categories. The role will partner with the operational management teams to ensure the availability of materials and cost minimisation, whilst also maximising stock optimisation levels and ensuring quality levels are achieved. The Senior Buyer will utilise strategic sourcing and lead on relevant contract negotiations. Additionally, the role will be responsible for monitoring and managing supplier performance, as well as driving continuous improvement and mitigating risk. The post holder will control category budgets and produce category management information reports. You will also manage some indirect spend.
What you'll need to succeedTo be successful
You will be a Senior Buyer with strong experience of direct procurement within a manufacturing organisation. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in strategic sourcing and negotiation, category management and supplier management. You build collaborative working relationships, have strong negotiation skills and have a solutions-focused approach.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of £45,000 to £50,000 plus bonus, and excellent benefits.
