Internationally we export some 240 different products to over 100 countries worldwide.The Group’s Agribusiness Division (Lakeland Agri) operates a state of the art Animal Feed Manufacturing Facility and is a leading and innovative provider of the highest quality feeds and agricultural inputs to dairy, beef and sheep farmers across the north and south of Ireland.Applications are invited for the above position in our Newtownards site.The RoleThe role is responsible for providing technical support to develop new products and/or improve existing products and processes, leadingto improved profitability for the Foodservice Division of Lakeland Dairies. The role is based in Newtownards, however, travel to group and customer sites may be expected as required.The PersonThe role requires a candidate to have attained a degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Food Science or related discipline.Candidates will require experience in product development, specification writing and will have worked/be working in a food manufacturing environment (preferably dairy). It would be advantageous if the candidate had experience of UHT processing and packing and/or knowledge of milk and dairy products.It is essential that the successful candidate is proficient in MS Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will also require good organisational skills and a high attention to detail as well as the ability to take ownership for projects through to completion.Knowledge of dairy science, food nutrition and food labelling is essential.
