NPI EngineerAssignment Type: Temporary, ongoing basis where you will be engaged via HaysLocation: ChichesterWorking Environment: HybridPay type: Competitive hourly pay rateStart date: ASAPOur ClientThe World’s pre-eminent super-luxury automotive brand based in Goodwood, near Chichester, West Sussex, which comprises its global headquarters and Global Centre of Luxury Manufacturing Excellence.The RoleHays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a NPI Engineer to join our client on an ongoing long term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months (rolling, reviewed annually).The successful Engineer will conduct evaluations for feasibility and cost for New Product Introduction (NPI) of low volume, high value products for manufacture within the Interior Trim Bespoke Studio.Project management of Interior Trim Centre activities through entire NPI process including evaluation, engineering / development, industrialisation and launch.Participate in design and engineering reviews, conduct risk-based evaluations of production processes and implement risk mitigations to streamline the delivery of new products and satisfy the defined quality standards.Plan and deliver evaluation trials, prototypes, and initial trial batch production through to integration of a stable process capable of delivering the required volume output.Perform and lead cross-functional problem-solving using DMAIC methodology.Develop, improve and industrialise new and existing manufacturing processes.Lead purchasing and commissioning of new jigs, fixtures, tooling and equipment as defined by each project.Skills & QualificationsExperience in a manufacturing engineering role preferably within automotive, aerospace or marineKnowledge of NPI, APQP & Project Management.Proficiency in 2D and 3D CADKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniquesStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical issuesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teamsBenefits:Hourly rate along with an annual performance related bonus.Hybrid working.Hybrid parking on-site with access to a subsidised restaurant.35 days annual leave (including bank holidays)What next?If you are interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now on 0116 261 5001.
