Software Product Technology ManagerLocation: BristolWe are looking for a highly skilled Software Product Technology Manager to work closely with our client’s key customers. In this role, you will define, prioritize, and develop strategies for software enablement, optimization, and delivery within both our client’s organization and their broader software ecosystem.Our client's Central Engineering Software group serves as a key bridge across a wide array of technologies, and as part of the team, you will address the increasing demand for robust software solutions that are aligned with the client’s hardware advancements.Job Overview:In this role, you will take ownership of the software roadmap and vision, leading the development, configuration, optimization, and productization of software to support our client’s portfolio. You will identify use cases and requirements to ensure that software solutions meet the needs of complex systems across various market segments. Additionally, you will work closely with open-source communities to leverage opportunities and ensure that software solutions are successfully deployed.Your role will encompass product planning and strategic initiatives aimed at supporting the deployment of our client’s software products, ensuring alignment with their hardware lifecycle and delivering comprehensive solutions to their partners.Key Responsibilities:Evaluate the complete value chain of end customers, hardware manufacturers, software vendors, and system designers. This includes productization, support, and quality assurance.Gather market-specific needs and translate these into actionable product plans.Collaborate with internal engineering teams and software vendors to prioritize features and enhancements that meet customer demands.Conduct competitive analysis to assess the strengths and weaknesses of our client’s solutions compared to competitors.Actively engage with open-source communities, promoting the value of our client’s software solutions and participating in customer meetings and training sessions.Required Skills & Experience:Proven experience in creating and managing software requirements, particularly in the context of software product delivery. Understanding of the validation and delivery process to ensure high-quality standards.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to define and implement strategic plans.Solid software development experience, whether in firmware, operating systems, or application development.Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a local development team and a globally distributed technology management team.Willingness to travel internationally, with up to 25% of the role involving travel.Desirable Skills & Experience:A relevant degree (or equivalent experience), ideally in a technical or numerate subject.Experience with the full lifecycle of open-source software development, including the definition of non-functional aspects such as integration maturity.Experience in software product development and delivery, with a focus on technical product management or technology marketing.Experience working in environments where both hardware and proof-of-concept software were developed in tandem.Familiarity with defining requirements to achieve optimization and quality goals, with a strong understanding of both functional and non-functional areas (such as performance and safety standards).By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.
