As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will have the chance to represent the department on key projects, influencing security designs and ensuring Our Client’s products stay at the cutting edge of cyber security.You’ll be responsible for identifying and assessing security risks, leading the implementation and validation of security measures, and ensuring compliance with MOD and Government security policies. The role will allow you to engage with stakeholders across the project, contributing to the Security Working Group and delivering security risk management throughout the engineering lifecycle.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly evolving area, shaping responses to complex cyber security challenges and contributing to the future of Our Client.Key Responsibilities:Risk Assessment: Identify, assess, and lead responses to security risks across a range of physical, personnel, procedural, and technical measuresSecurity Design: Provide cyber security expertise throughout the engineering lifecycle, from initial requirements through to operational guidanceRisk Management: Deliver and support the project's cyber security risk management process across the lifecycleCollaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure security measures are implemented effectivelySecurity Case Development: Produce and deliver the project security case and engage with project collaborators to meet key achievementsStakeholder Engagement: Liaise regularly with the end user, customer community, and project teams to introduce innovative cyber security thinkingTechnology Development: Stay ahead of emerging security functions and approaches, contributing to Our Client’s forward-looking strategy in cyber securityWhat We're Looking For:Ability to undertake risk assessments and implement security measuresKnowledge of MOD and Government information security policies and how to tailor them to meet product-specific needsDelivery-focused mindset, understanding the competing demands on security design and assuranceSystems Engineering Awareness: Familiarity with electronics, software technology, and development principlesExperience delivering security case documents for military or similar equipmentProven ability to engage with partners, engineering teams, and sub-contractors to provide guidance and supportUnderstanding of systems security verification, validation, testing, and evaluation approaches, including HMG Information Assurance schemesCuriosity and drive to stay up-to-date with emerging cyber security approachesDesirable:DV Clearance (Desirable but not crucial)Interested?Click Apply Now to join a team at the cutting edge of cyber security in the defence industry.
